How To Cook Rice In Minutes

If you avoid eating rice just for the reason that it takes long time to get cooked, then here are some unique tips on how to cook rice in minutes. Cooking rice fast requires some preparation in advance, but that is not too difficult. Nowadays there are so many cooking gadgets are available which take much less time to prepare rice properly. Even otherwise, I will tell you the most economical trick which I follow to cook my rice.Cooking rice in a pot


There are certain issues which must be kept in mind while cooking rice. First of all, select the best quality rice. Even if you find the best quality rice is comparatively expensive, ultimately it saves on your cooking gas or electricity bill. The second tip is about the vessel in which you prepare the rice, in case you are not using the rice cooker or pressure cooker. Select a deep pot or vessel, on the heavier side. This helps to hold the heat for cooking the rice. Finally, when you plan to cook the rice, don’t forget to soak it in clear water for an hour or so. All these issues play much important role to make your cooking process faster. Now I will come to the different methods of cooking rice in minutes.


Rice Cooker – if you are using the rice cooker, then follow the instruction sheet carefully to get the most effective use of this gadget. All rice cookers are not alike. It must be specified clearly about the proportion of water and rice. This must be followed to make your rice well done within 10-15 minutes.


Pressure Cooker – This is one of the fastest methods to cook rice. Use soaked rice and keep the water level approximately 1 inch higher than the rice. Cover the lid and allow the pressure to build up and release for at least 2-3 times. Now remove from heat and wait to open the cover, until the full pressure gets released completely.  Normally the water is supposed to get used up in the cooking, however if you find excess water then remove it by straining the rice over a colander.


Microwave Oven – One of the best and hassle-free processes to cook rice fast is through microwave. Use a microwave safe bowl to put the presoaked rice and pour just the double amount of warm water. In fact, I use little less from the double to make my rice free from starch. Cover the bowl and put inside the microwave by setting the temperature in high for around 10 minutes.


Pot Cooking – For pot cooking of rice, I am going to share my personal trick. Use double part of warm water to cook the presoaked rice. When the water starts boiling and rises to the top of the pot; cover it with a lid. Remove from heat and wait for 5-7 minutes. It will be absolutely ready for you within minutes.
