How to Cook Frozen Lobster

Unless you are lucky enough to be living near a coast where you can easily get fresh lobster, you will have to hit the nearest super market for a high quality frozen lobster. The frozen varieties, particularly the rock lobster or spiny lobster have white meat and no odor. It is always a good idea to purchase the hard frozen versions of lobsters and thaw and cook them when they are still hard. Lobster is an excellent seafood and has several ways of cooking it.

You have to buy a frozen lobster, and get in place a wooden skewer, a top-steam colander, melted butter and lemon wedges.
Now, here are the steps on how to cook frozen lobster –
Step 1: Before you start cooking frozen lobster, allow them to thaw in the freezer for 24 hours. This is because; cooking an un-thawed lobster can result in hard meat. You can make the thawing process faster by placing it in a plastic bag immersed in water inside a refrigerator.
Step 3: Now, steam cook your thawed lobster. Slide a wooden skewer through the tails as they will curl up.
Step 4: In the steam pot, pour 4 to 5 cups water and bring it to full boil. Now, place at most four tails of lobster in your top-steam colander. Then, cover the colander with a lid and cook for few minutes until the lobster turns red and the flesh turns white. Per ounce of the lobster meat will require steaming for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 5: Once you have completed cooking the lobster, remove the steamer and bring it to the sink. Now, run cold water over your cooked lobster. This stops the lobster from cooking any further and at the same times cleans it. This step is necessary because double cooking seafood can harden the meat.
When you are serving your cooked frozen lobster, accompany each piece with some melted butter and fresh lemon wedges in small cups.
