What You Need
Frozen hamburger patties
BBQ sauce
Salt and pepper
Burger buns
Onions, if you want
Step 1: Make sure you have all the ingredients at hand so that you don’t have to move about locating things at the last minute.
Step 2: Make sure the patties are chilled thoroughly. Burgers come out better if they are chilled.
Step 3: Sprinkle the salt and pepper generously on the patties. If you have any seasonings, you can brush onto the patties.
Step 4: Heat the grill. If you are using charcoal, wait for the coals to get ash-covered.
Step 5: Once your grill is extremely hot, place the patties on it. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes.
Step 6: When the burger is done on one side, add some barbecue sauce on the meat. The sauce makes the burger juicier. You can also add other sauces such as Tabasco or teriyaki.
Step 7: Once you have applied the sauce, flip the burger and cook the other side for 5 minutes.
Step 6: Bring out the burger buns and place them on the grill. Grill each side for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Crispy buns add more flavor to the burger than soft, soggy ones. Be careful not to burn the buns though!
Step 7: After the patties have cooked for 5 minutes, lift them to the edge of the grill. Take a knife and make a slice to see the color of the meat. If the patties are pink, they are rare. If you want a medium done burger, shift to the center of the grill to cook for another minute or so and check the color again.
Step 8: Remove the patties from the grill and let them cool for a few minutes.
Step 9: Place the patties between the buns and enjoy the all-American snack.
