Are you craving for some light healthy food but have no time to cook at the end of the day? Do you wish you could once again dig into your grandmother’s chicken and cream of mushroom? Well, just bring out your crock pot and read on.

Chicken and Cream of Mushroom

What You Need

5 boneless chicken breasts

5 tablespoons butter

1 oz. package dry onion soup mix

¾ cup white rice

½ cup Parmesan cheese

1½ cups milk

2 cans cream of mushroom soup (10.75 oz. Each)

Salt and pepper to taste

Step 1: Cook the rice and set aside.

Step 2: Take a bowl and mix the onion soup, milk, cream of mushroom and the rice and leave on the counter.

Step 3: Spray the crock pot with non-stick spray or simply line with a little oil and place the chicken breasts inside.

Step 4: Scoop one tablespoon of butter on each breast and pour the soup mix over them.

Step 5: Season the chicken and the mixture with salt and pepper and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.

Step 6: Turn on the crock pot. Set it on low and cook for 8-10 hours.

The chicken should now be cooked throughout. Serve on a platter just like your grandmother did. Bring out the knives and forks and take a trip down memory lane.
