While there are many ways of clearing wine at home, some wines that are made from berry and plum are stubborn. Bentonite is the best wine clearing agent for homemade wine. It attracts all the cloud forming particles and clears the wine by making it more appetizing.

 

A step by step guide for learning the process of clearing wine with bentonite.

  • Use a saucepan to boil half a pint of water.
  • Take 1 ½ tablespoon bentonite in a large bowl and slowly pour boiled water by continuous stirring. Add all the water to achieve a watery paste.
  • Let the bentonite water mixture sit for a day and once again stir the mixture.
  • This bentonite mixture is used for clearing wine at home. Just use 3 tablespoon of bentonite water for every gallon of homemade wine. Use a glass rod for stirring after adding the bentonite water mixture.
  • After every hour the wine has to be stirred and this should be done for few hours.
  • Thereafter let the wine sit for a day or at least overnight to see a clearer wine. At this point, the wine is much clear and ready to serve or drink.

  • Calculate the exact quantity of bentonite mixture required for clearing homemade wine.
  • Chill homemade wine before and after adding the clearing agent.
