How to choose wine for a pasta dish?

Choosing wine for a pasta dish depends on particular preferences and tastes. Frankly speaking there is nothing that holds right or wrong when it comes to wine pairing. Simply follow rules of thumb and pick up wine that you enjoy to drink. Here are certain things which may help you to decide how to choose wine for a pasta dish.

1.    Focus on the sauce, ingredients, flavor and choose your pasta and then shift your focus on selecting the wine.

2.     Choose your wine according to the most demanding flavor of your pasta.

3.    For spicy pasta, you may want to choose a sweet wine. Pick up a wine which is as sweet as the taste of the pasta .

4.    For acidic pasta (because of the presence of excess tomatoes) go for a fruity flavored wine.

5.    For an Acidic pasta go for a full-bodied rich and dark red wine.

6.    For vegetarian pasta dishes, go for lighter wines like white wines.

7.    For creamy sauced pastas go for a wine which is crisp on the tounge and light acidic. A White wine or light red wine may team well with such pastas.
