1.    Prepare a list for grocery shopping and stick with it. Do not let your temptation sway you for buying the expensive veggie foods. Include more of vegetarian staples like rice and wheat. Now review and calculate your weekly expenses and see if it matches with your proposed food budget.

2.    Be wise while you shop. In case you feel that buying food from the little store in the neighborhood is eating up your budget, choose go shop at the grocery super markets. You may find the very same item being sold at a lesser price here. You may also buy canned vegetables and fruits from here that will add to your health and probably help you save some money per can.

3.    The next step is to create a different meal options using the staples that are to be bought. The basic ones namely rice, milk, noodles, cheese, pasta, beans, canned tomatoes, frozen stir fried veggies and mushroom soup cream can be combined to form  a plenty of delicious and healthy dishes like rice noodles which are good for belly and budget both. And forget faux meats and ground beef!

4.    Skip organic food. Organic food does not only cost double the non-organic products but they also possess higher pesticide residue. So either try to buy them from the farmer’s market to cut the cost and the hazardous effect of the safety measures or do not buy them at all.
