Quiche, though a classic French dish, the name is of German origin, which means cake. An oven baked dish, which can be modified with different fillings to suit the breakfast, lunch, or dinner menu. Required Ingredients

 

For making it easier, use the readymade deep dish pie shells – 2

Filling suggestions: ham, broccoli, spinach, carrot, onion, mushroom with cheese etc. Use the filling of your choice for the quiche or you could also use a combination of two or more  ingredients.

Eggs –  one of the most important ingredients of the pie add about 4 of them.

Evaporated milk – Quiche is known to have eggs and milk as its main ingredients. use 1 can of evaporated milk in the recipe.

The Procedure

 

1 Preheat the oven about 15 minutes ahead in time to the mentioned temperature or 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the readymade shells for 15 to 20 minutes.

 

2 Choose the dry filling ingredients of your choice and roughly chop them. Combine  them together.

 

3 In a small bowl, add the eggs and whisk until small bubbles appear on the surface of the eggs. This will help the pie center to be light.

 

4 Gradually add in the evaporated milk into the eggs and continue to whisk so that  they blend well.

 

5 Stir in the regular milk , just enough to make about 4 cups of the mixture.

 

6 Remove the baked shells from the oven and increase the temperature to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

 

7 Divide the dry filling equally and fill evenly  into each shell.

 

8 On a heavy baking sheet, place the prepared quiche shells.

 

9 Pour  2 cups of eggs and milk mixture in each shell and fill them up.

 

10 Place the shells in the oven and bake at the mentioned temperature or at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

 

11 Reduce the temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for another 25 minutes.

 

12 Place on a cooling rack for 10 minutes before serving.
