Ingredients for making chicken corn syrup
For making chicken corn syrup, you will need 8 to 12 chicken legs, a cup of tomato ketchup, a cup of corn syrup, a cup of brown sugar, half a cup of soy sauce and minced garlic.
Instructions on making chicken corn syrup
Making the chicken sauce
The corn syrup sauce is a sticky sauce. To prepare it, mix the ketchup, corn syrup, brown sugar, soy sauce and garlic in a sauce pan. Now, place the sauce pan on a burner and turn it on. Now, cook the sauce mixture on a medium heat and let it simmer.
Preparing the chicken
Place the chicken legs in an oven-ready flat bottomed casserole dish. Make sure the chicken pieces have fitted in snugly. Now, pour the entire sticky chicken sauce over the chicken legs and coat the pieces evenly with this sauce. Make sure the pieces are submerged at least half way in the sticky sauce.
Baking the chicken
Bake the chicken legs for 1.5 to 2 hours maintaining a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. After you bake the chicken for 45 minutes, baste the pieces. Your chicken corn syrup is ready!
Serving tips
Give your chicken corn syrup 5 to 10 minutes before you serve it. This will give the chicken pieces enough time to cool down and also make the chicken softer and tender. Serve the chicken pieces on a bed of steamed rice. You can use the excess corn syrup sauce for flavoring the rice.
