How do I Fry a Hamburger?
Ingredients:
For frying hamburgers, you need the following ingredients:
Ground (or minced) beef meat – 500 gms; Onion – 1 half, finely chopped; Ground Coriander – 1 teaspoon; Paprika Powder – 1 teaspoon; Worcestershire Sauce – 1 tablespoon; Egg – 1 piece; Oil – 2 tablespoons; Black Pepper – To taste; Salt – To taste; Buns – 2 pieces; Butter – 1 cube; Cheese – 2 sheets
Tomatoes; Onions; Lettuce; Mayonnaise; Ketchup; English mustard
Method:
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well, so that it forms a nice, well blended mixture.
Using your hands, turn them into the shapes of small patties.
Now, place a frying pan on medium heat and add oil to it.
Once the oil is heated, place the patties on the pan. Fry them well on one side and then flip them so that the other side is equally cooked.
Depending on how you want your burgers to be cooked – whether rare or medium or well cooked - you can decide on the time needed to fry them. Here’s a general time estimate for cooking each side:
3 minutes – for rare
4 minutes – for medium
5 minutes – for well done
Though you can opt for any of these kinds, it is always safer to go for the well-cooked hamburgers only. The UPSA recommends hamburgers cooked at 80 degree Celsius (well-done) so as to negate the possibility of any harmful bacteria that raw hamburgers may contain, which may in turn, produce food-borne illness.
Do not fry the patties on high heat, as this will burn them from outside while keeping them raw and uncooked from within.
Now, turn the heat off. Add slices of cheese on one side of the patties and let them be for about a minute. The cheese absorbs the heat from the patties and melts gradually.
When the patties are almost ready, take two buns and slit each of them into two halves.
Spread the butter on the buns. Lay them on a baking tray and put them under the broiler for about 2 minutes. Toasting the buns this way keeps the buns crispy for a long time and prevents the buns from being soggy easily.
Your hamburgers are ready. Serve them with a dollop of mayonnaise at the base, then the patties, then a thin layer of onion, followed by lettuces, a layer of tomatoes. Finally, seal them with daps of ketchup and English mustard and your favorite hamburgers are ready!!
Today, hamburgers are often the first choice for fast dinners, parties, picnics and outdoor grills. Frying hamburgers is a great alternative for today’s generation and the kind of fast paced lives that they lead, and this is precisely why it is gaining more and more popularity in our daily lives.
