Here one heartburn news for street food lover from Delhi.Street food vendors in Delhi face an uncertain future.

Street food vendors from Paranthe wali gali

In consultation with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) ,Supreme Court of India has banned food stalls from cooking on footpaths. Food carts owner will now have to cook snacks at home and sell this packeted food at designated spaces which are still to be allotted by the MCD and NDMC.

This recent Supreme Court order requiring vendors to sell packed products might soon cause the city to lose one of its greatest charms:its street food.

But a solution may be in offing. The Supreme Court of India recently suggested the MCD earmark areas for food courts, where freshly cooked food could be sold. The court felt that in this way Delhites could still sample street food hygienically.
