Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off
It is that time of the year! Calling all fans of Baked macaroni and cheese to the Great Macaroni and Cheese Bake –off! This yummy event is being conducted by the seven wineries of Old Mission Penisnsula(WOMP) and if you are an ardent fan of comfort food and love Macroni and Cheese then Old Mission Peninsula is the place to be this november.

Old Mission Peninsula located in Northwest Lower Michigan, dividing the Grand Traverse Bay into East and West Bays is well known for the seven wineries and the premium quality of the wines produced in these wineries. Rieslings, Pinot Grigios, Chardonnays are just few of the best wines you can get from these wineries. But at the Great Macaroni and Cheese Bake-Off it is not only the wine that you will get.
2 lads winery, Black Star Farms, Bowers Harbour Vineyards, Brys Estate Wineyard and Winery, Chateau Chantal, Chateau Grand Traverse and Peninsula Cellars are the seven wineries that hosts the Great Macroni and Cheese Bake off annually. At this year’s function 14 local chefs and restaurants have been invited to showcase their most appetizing and phenomenal interpretation of macaroni and cheese. Each of their creations will be then paired with the right wine from the wineries.
Last year the event drew close to 1,400 foodies and they even got to select the “best of” in four categories. The dish that was the Most Unique, Cheesiest, Best with White Wine and the People's Choice were the four categories. From frozen chocolate coated mac and cheese served on a stick to macroni and cheese that has Swiss chard with pancetta, applewood bacon, butternut squash and cheddar....there were many wonder dishes last year.
This year, the Bake – Off will be held on Nov 27th from 11 am to 5 pm. The tickets are only $25 and you can get them online at www.chateauchantal.com or you can even call up Peninsula Cellars at 231-933-9787.
Here is a reason why you simply shouldn’t miss the Great Macroni and Cheese bake off. You can get your hands on a souvenir glass and enjoy wine tasting and some pasta at all seven wineries.
