This morning, Bill Rancic made a special appearance on NBC's Today and spoke to Ann Curry about the double lumpectomy that Giuliana Rancic went through yesterday. According to him, Giuliana is “doing well” post operation. She was earlier diagnosed with breast cancer.

Though the operation was a “tough” one for her, Bill Rancic said that, "She's a trooper, she pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out. She's doing well at home and recovering."

A very supportive Bill Rancic said, "I wish I could carry some of the load and take some of the pain away. Watching the IVs go in her arm and watching her being wheeled into that operating room was heartbreaking for me.”

He said that finding out that she had cancer in the early stages was “a gift”. The couple will visit the doctor tomorrow for a post operation report and Giuliana plans to return to E! next week.

"We're hoping to get a good report and, God willing, then it's radiation and we kick off 2012 with a new outlook on life - we're ready to take on the world. She's excited... and she's really viewing life a little bit differently," Bill Rancic said.

Giuliana Rancic, said that by revealing her cancer battle to the public, she hoped to send out a powerful message to all the ladies to get their breasts clinically checked regularly.
