French actress and model, Isabelle Caro, died on November 17 in France after getting treated for a severe lung infection in Tokyo. The cause and reasons of this anorexic model’s death aremain unknown.

In year 2007, Isabelle Caro featured in a shocking anti anorexic ad campaign shot by Oliviero Toscani. The shrunken image of naked Isabelle Caro with swollen facial bones and vertebrates made headlines on many newspapers and billboards in France. This ad campaign had a headline saying “No Anorexia”. It is reported that at the time of this campaign, Isabelle weighed 59 pounds.

The campaign ran soon after 21-year-old Brazilian model Ana Carolina Reston died of anorexia.

Caro, as mentioned in one of her blogs and  on CBS news, was suffering from anorexia since the age of 13. She told the media “I’ve been anorexic since I was 13. I said if i can put my years of suffering to use, then it will not have been pointless…it’s really a warning that this is a serious illness.”

“I thought this could be a chance to use my suffering to get a message across, and finally put an image on what thinness represents and the danger it leads to — which is death.” said the anorexic model to the reporters, after the ad campaign.

Isabelle Caro also featured on Jessica Simpson’s short-lived VH1 show, The Price of Beauty. She expressed Jessica that she is trying her best to get a law passed in French Parliament that would not allow the models from working if they are too thin.

Caro authored a book in 2008 with the title The Little Girl Who Didn't Want to Get Fat.

The death of this anorexic model has suddenly made every one focus on the eating disorder called anorexia.

The pro-ana or pro anorexic websites featured the pictures of the model. One of them being a notice about her death with a photo of her having large blue-green eyes gazing over a child-sized upper arm saying "die young, stay pretty."

Vincent Bigler, a Swiss singer who was working with Isabelle Caro wrote a song about anorexia. He is said to have written it after the listening to Caro on a TV show about anorexia,
