Freeze the bread.
Once I had a big party and I had to buy several loaves of bread. I bought the nice expensive ones and took a lot of care to have enough.Sure enough I was left with tons of leftovers. I could have passed them along. But then I thought-- I spent all that mnoney. I fed all these people. I should not have to give them food too.
So I decided to keep the berad for myself. The idea was not to have the same 4 kinds of bread for breakfast, lunch and dinner but some thing more doable. I read on the internet.
You can freeze the loaves. That sounded good. Just freeze them in their bags. The white breads don't freeze well but the rest are as fresh as ever when you thaw.
Alternatively, wrap them in plastic wrap. You basically have to make sure that it has no air. Wrap the whole thing in foil. This way the moisture is retained and bread remains fresh. You could keep them this way for 6 months.
Just make sure sure to take out only what you want. You could either thaw it
overnight in the refrigerator or a couple of hours at room temperature. I have even popped frozen bread directly in the toaster for toasts and they come out perfect.
Try this technique. This way you can buy several loaves when ever you find them cheap and have them readily available. Plus you will never have to gice away food that you bought to other people. Just save it for yourself for later use.
