Free Images for your recipe and blogs

Simply go to http://www.openstockphotography.org/ search for a picture and copy it (Ctrl+C) and paste it to your blog (Ctrl+V). You can also right click on picture to save it as a file and the load that file to your recipe.

All images listed at Open Stock Photography comes from Wikimedia Commons and as such "can be used by anyone, for any purpose.

 

As of April 2007, the Wikimedia Commons, a central media archive operated by he Wikimedia Foundation, contains about 1,367,620 files uploaded by over 30,000 registered users. Each of these files is available under a free content license or in the public domain; there are no restrictions of use beyond those relating to use of official insignia.

This is definitely helpful. Thanks Joe. In this digital age most of us have standalone digital camera or a camera attached in mobile phone and camcoder. We prepare and eat food everyday. Food is everywhere. All it requires is couple of minutes of extra effort to take and post the pictures. Furthermore if each one of us pitch in 25 pictures we will soon have an inventory for thousands of pictures for use by entire ifood.tv community.

yeah that is a nice way to get images that are under public use domain - i have seen that ifood people are quite serious about preventing use of copyrighted materials. i read their terms and conditions page

However, if we share recipes they really should be TNT (Tried and True) and therefore we most likely will take our own photos. I know many here including myself only share recipes that we make in our homes or professional kitchens. Shanti/Mary-Anne
