5 Foods You Wouldn't Think of That Will Help You Burn Fat

Have you been diligently exercising but still aren't seeing the results you wished for? Chances are that your diet is not how it should be. Exercising is only half of the battle - the other half is having a proper, healthy diet. A bad diet can kill all of the hard work you've put into working out. However, it is not all about what not to eat - it's also about what to eat. Below I have gone over 5 foods that you wouldn't necessarily think of which will help you burn fat and stay healthy. Keep them stocked and eat them regularly and you will be able to see the results.

1. Cottage Cheese: This snack is low in calories and high in protein, containing only 90 calories for the 14 grams of protein it has in a regular serving. Plus, cottage cheese will take on the flavor of any food with which you mix it with, which can make for some tasty snacks. Try mixing it with yogurt or nuts.

2. Almonds: While almonds are high in fat, it is actually the good type of fat, which is needed to burn the bad fat from your body. Also, almonds contain all sorts of nutrients that you need to stay fit. Some experts have labeled the almond the "miracle nut". Try mixing almonds with cottage cheese and yogurt.

3. Lean Hamburger Meat: Make sure you buy the lean ground beef, not the regular type. This lean beef will provide you with 20 - 25 grams of protein per serving, with only 4 grams of fat - wow! Try not to use the traditional white hamburger buns, and instead go for the healthier choice of whole wheat buns.

4. Whole Wheat Pasta: This food will help you maintain your insulin levels (helping you burn fat 24/7), and is the ultimate carb. It has the added benefit of being totally void of processed flour, which regular pasta has. Try mixing whole wheat pasta with lean hamburger meat or chicken.

5. Whole Wheat Bread: It used to be believed that bread of any type was bad for you, but whole wheat bread disproves that. Whole wheat has a nice amount of nutrients and good carbs that you need to keep your energy levels stable. Try making a meal out of lean hamburger meat mixed with whole wheat pasta on a whole wheat bun.

Keeping these foods around will keep you burning fat 24/7, 7 days a week. They are great alternatives to the traditional, less healthy foods that we usually keep stocked. I can guarantee that eating a healthy diet like this will have you feeling healthier, more energized, and seeing better results in less time than you would think.

Lean chicken, pork and seafood are also great healthy choices, plus fresh veggies and fruits! Grains like quinoa, kalmut, brown rice and frekh are great also! Make healthy choices on the fats you use-olive oil, rice bran oil, avocado oil, and other healthy oils in place of transfats and processed fats and animal fats. I always choose lean cuts of meats such as goat, skinless chicken, pomfret, shrimp and such. Another healthy choice is to use egg whites instead of too many eggs. I switched to low fat dairy and it really tastes great and i healthy, well not te cheese. I mean cheese needs to have fat for flavour that is sure. I just limit how much cheese I eat. I use to devour French triple cream cheeses every day, but now only eat a small portion on ocassion. They are my down fall. Some love desserts-not me-but oh dear I love cheeses. Healthy Choices and Portion Control makes all the difference. Cooking with herbs and spices, as well as garlic, onions and of course my favourite-chiles, makes food so much more exciting and fullfilling so you are satisfied and eat less. Shanti/Mary-Anne
