Foods That Cause Gas
Certain food can cause gastric trouble. Here is a list
Does your stomach feel bloated up in between meals or just after a heavy meal? Do you sometimes have the urge to pass out the stinking gas? Gas formation in the stomach is a result of wrong or late eating. There are a few gas creating food items, which needs to be avoided for the smooth functioning of your stomach and to avoid an otherwise embarrassing situation.
Why does Bloating and Gas Happen
Now, gas can be a result of many things, starting from swallowing air while eating to bacterias in the digestive system, food with high carbohydrate raffinose content are all causes of gas formation. Food which contains fiber and starch are food that is not digested properly can lead to gas formation.
What Causes Gas and Bloating?
Some vegetables are high in raffinose, and therefore they might lead to gas formation. Beans, carrots, cauliflower, peas, onions, cabbages, radish, cucumbers, celery and corn are examples. Certain fruits can also cause bloating or gas, because they have a high level of fructose. Apricots, raisin, peaches, apples, bananas and oranges are examples. Certain dairy products can also cause the same problem. A person with gastric problems should ideally avoid ice cream, milk, cheese and processed milk products because they have lactose which is hard to digest. Whole grains like wheat, barley and oat bran can also cause bloating of the stomach, as undigested wheat leads to fermentation in the stomach.
Watch What You Eat
The food items mentioned above have components that can lead to gastric difficulties. But that does not mean they are unhealthy items and that it should all be completely avoided. It simply means that, one simply has to eat and drink in moderation.
