Food For Thought – Literally!
Heard this joke? A boy telling his Mother – “I thought, I thought, I thought and I thought some more, but just couldn’t remember the past tense of ‘think’!”
For all you know, the lack of memory or attention span or concentration could be pinned down directly to the food you are consuming. Did you know certain fats (yes fats!) are actually essential for the brain to perform properly? Science lessons and theories aside, Omega-3 fats, easily found in common foods like tuna, salmon, olive oil and walnuts help improve memory and boost blood circulation in the body which is most essential for the brain to function properly.
Did you know eggs, grams, milk and even ice-creams (as it is a dairy product!) aid the teeny-weeny neurotransmitters in our body in responding to any new knowledge that registers in our brain? So the next time you meet someone on the street who comes up to you and says “Hey, wassup?” and you cannot remember him from Adam, rush to the food market and buy the above mentioned food items.
We all, well at least most of us, were more attentive during biology class than we were in any other subject, so we do know that water makes up seventy percent of our body. And we have also heard of water therapy and its benefits. Do you know, your attention span is defined by your water-intake? Well, too bad if you have not been able to keep up with this blog. Maybe you should go and drink some water.
