Here are some popular dishes from Ethiopian menu.

 

Breakfast menu ideas:

 

  • Injira – This is special bread which is prepared with buckwheat pancake mix and also biscuit mix as the main ingredients. Pancakes are usually prepared which overlap one another, forming a tablecloth like structure.
  • Iab – This is a special healthy yogurt and cottage cheese which is served for breakfast with vegetables, salad herbs and grated lemon rind.

 

Lunch and dinner menu options:

 

  • Doro Wat – This is a special Ethiopian chicken stew which is extremely hot. It is normally cooked in a dutch oven or a very heavy Special Ethiopian chicken stew recipestewpot. The common ingredients used are Bermuda onions, cayenne pepper, ginger, black pepper, paprika and chicken.
  • Sega Wat – This is a sumptuous Ethiopian lamb which is prepared with the leg section of lamb. The lamb is cut into small cubes while cooking.
  • Kitfo – This is a special chopped beef dish which is prepared after grinding it fresh, so that it tastes its best. Butter is added along with chili pepper and cayenne pepper.
  • Sheba salad – This is a specialty Ethiopian salad which is prepared by combining firm tomatoes, sweet onions, finely chopped garlic, hot chili pepper, pepperoni and sheba sauce. Other ingredients which are combined include ketchup, vinegar, white wine, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper and Tabasco sauce.

 

Ethiopian menu wine:

 

  • Tej – This is a special wine which is prepared from honey raw with comb and cooked with hops. This is not a very easy to prepare wine and requires some experience. It is normally served after being chilled.

 

We can conclude from the above that Ethiopian menu dishes include a wide range of dishes prepared from hot and spicy ingredients, which gives the foods from the region a distinctive taste.
