edible fruit bouquetEdible fruit bouquets are very attractive and they are good alternative to gifts like flowers and chocolates. They are unique and beautiful thank you gifts, hostess gifts or table centerpieces at any type of parties. The edible fruit bouquets which are available in the market can be pricey, but you can very easily prepare them at home using fresh fruits. See how…

Fruit
   1. When making edible fruit bouquets, it is best to use sturdy fruits as they do not tend to fall apart. Fruits such as pineapple, honeydew, strawberries, cantaloupe and grapes are ideal as they can be sliced and well carved without losing their shape. Other sturdy fruits like apples may also be chosen for making edible fruit bouquets, but they should be soaked for some time in lemon juice in order to prevent from turning brown.

Skewers
   2. Wooden skewers are basically used to make the "stems" of edible fruit bouquet. The fruits should be pierced onto the skewers in a nice design. You can make long shapes by piercing grapes and fruits in different shapes on top of one another. Use long slices of honeydew and slip them on a skewer to make them look like leaves.

Flowers
   3. Use pineapple slices to make flowers. Use a cookie cutter of flower shape to carve out flower from a fresh pineapple. Simply press the cookie cutter over the fruit. Prepare cantaloupe balls and cut them in half. Use one half to place in the middle of the flower of pineapple so as to make its center. Take a skewer and pierce a pineapple followed by the piece of cantaloupe.

Greenery

   4. In order to hide the sticks, you can use some parsley sprigs among the sticks. Move the sticks a little so that you can put the parsley in the center. Put enough of parsley so as to give a look of some greenery in a bouquet rather than merely a bunch of sticks.

Vase

   5. An edible fruit bouquet can be placed into any type of vase. Baskets, vases and pails are a good option, but you may use items which are much more personalized. Decorative planters of different shapes are good options for birthday parties, baby showers and bridal showers. In order to hold the sticks of the bunch together, place a piece of play dough at the bottom. image credits : google images
