Eating Before a Morning Walk
Did you know that eating before a morning walk is crucial? Did you know that our body requires fuel to gather the stamina to exercise? Well, if you never knew about these health facts, I will discuss with you why eating before a morning walk is important. If you have been living with the myth that starving your body for hours can give you a leaner figure, then shed the idea. Our body needs a constant or at least timely supply of fuel in order to gather up the energy and stamina to workout, which in this case is a morning walk. But at the same time, overeating can prolong the digestion process and make you feel uncomfortable. So, while eating before a morning walk is important, it’s also important that you know how much to eat and when to eat.
Empty stomached morning walk isn't a good idea
Never start your morning walk without feeding your empty stomach! Always have a light snack before you begin your morning workout session. This holds true for any kind of exercise, whether you are to run on a treadmill or you are to do a brisk morning walk by the sea beach. Even if you are one of those who normally skip their breakfast, fuel up your body with a sports drink or an all-natural fruit juice. This will furnish your body with at least some calories to produce the requisite energy for your morning walk. Without any readily available calories, your body is unlikely to do the requisite hours of morning walk that your health advisor wants you to do.
Wait after a meal before going out for your morning walk
Now that you know why eating before a morning walk is necessary, I would like to tell you how you should maintain a proper balance between your breakfast time and morning walk. If you are one of those people who love elaborate breakfasts, then, always wait for 3 to 4 hours before beginning your morning walk. This is because; your body will need time to digest the proteins and fats which come with a heavy breakfast. That’s why I always say it’s best to have lighter meals before morning walks. If you don’t keep an adequate pause between your breakfast and morning walk, the blood will be diverted from the stomach to your exercising muscles, and you will end up with an incomplete digestion. This results in lack of energy and discomfort throughout your morning walk and after that.
A word of advice
My advice to you would be to focus on a light carbohydrate rich snack and wait for half an hour or 90 minutes before you begin your morning walk. Carbohydrates are easily digested within this time frame and your body gets the much needed fuel boost to go for a morning walk.
