The East Midlands Food and Drinks festival is all set to travel back in time this year! The event is returning to the town of Melton once again and the visitors are being assured of having a wonderful time as they take a long and nostalgic trip down memory lane via the food that will be showcased here.
What Can We Expect?
Ancient food items the likes of which have not been around for a long time will be on offer while the visitors can also hope to catch a glimpse of historical cooking styles replete with vintage equipments. The retro kitchen set up by the organizers will help to provide us with important insight wherein we might just manage to learn a thing or two from our predecessors.
The most notable inclusion is bound to be the section on “food through the ages” where the visitors can hope to taste the wonderful flavors and wholesome food that had kept our forefathers hale and hearty.
What Else?
The modern England will be represented by a host of food tasting events, competitions and cookery contests meant for both children as well as the adults. Linda Hewett, belonging to the School of Bread Making will also demonstrate how simple it is to bake the humble bread.
Matthew O’Callaghan is the host of the festival who also happens to be the chairman Melton Mowbray Food Partnership is delighted with the turn of events and looks forward to the festival as much as the residents of the town and neighboring areas.
It will be a time to gorge on mouthwatering gourmet fare from Edinburgh like the Stilton cheeses and hunt cake all washed down with vintage elderflower cordial. Bison meat along with the immensely popular Melton Mowbray Pork pie will no doubt be able to hold its own among the food items that will give an opportunity to have a blast with the past!
