Drinks that make you sleep

If waking up in the wee hours of night, trying your best to turn your mind to a sleepy state is taking a toll over your life now…. Try these sleep-inducing drinks to help you sleep soundly. Insomnia or inability to achieve an undisturbed sleep for 7 hours is an inevitable outcome of the modern day stressful lifestyle. Though, popping up a sleeping pill is indeed the best resort to stimulate your body to a sleep mode, the habit is extremely addictive. So, save the pill option for the last and try some effective sleep-inducing drinks first.

Best drinks to help you sleep soundly

Almond milk

This is a sweet and savory drink prepared from a fine blend of choicest of sweet almonds and milk. Addition of a pinch of cardamom to the drink would be indeed exciting for your taste-buds. Savor a hot glass full of this milk minutes before hitting the bed for sleeping.

Nutmeg in milk

The drink is easy and a perfect sleep inducing delight for your body. Just add a pinch of nutmeg in a warm glass of milk and drink it only when you want to prepare yourself for sleep.

Milk and garlic

If the pungent smell of the garlic cloves is tolerable by your partner, this milk is perfect to turn your body to a restful and sleepy mode. Simply add fresh cloves of garlic in the milk and boil it. Enjoy the milk when you are done with kitchen cleaning and cooking and want to catch some sleep.

Tomato juice

One cup of fresh tomato juice with a pinch of sugar is potent enough to make you drowsy! Remember to take the drink in the evening, at least two hours before your dinner. And as soon as the clock will strike 11:00 pm, your body will be all set for a restful sleep.

How do these drinks work?

These above mentioned drinks are natural and do not have any magical formula to induce you to sleep. However, as soon as either of these drinks is ingested by the body, the brain releases a sleep inducing hormone called serotonin. The release of this brain chemical signals the body to turn into a restful, drowsy mode.

So, the next time, instead of simply watching and envying your partner sleep, try one of the above drinks and to catch some sleep.
