Do you want to see Turkey Day TV ?

Thanksgiving Day, is a traditional North American holiday to give thanks at the conclusion of the harvest season. But I think that this is a fantastic food festival (After reading Mary-Anne’s Blog).

Thanksgiving meals are traditionally family events where certain kinds of food are served.First and foremost, turkey is the featured item in most Thanksgiving feasts (so much so that Thanksgiving is sometimes facetiously referred to as "Turkey Day"). Stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn, turnips, and pumpkin pie are commonly associated with Thanksgiving dinner. Often guests bring food items or help with cooking in the kitchen as part of a happy, communal meal.

In keeping with the holiday theme of giving thanks, during the socializing or meal, people talk about what they are thankful for or tell about experiences during the past year which have caused them to feel grateful.

So ,watch this Thanksgiving Recipe TV

and

enjoy the delicious taste of Turkey Day....

What if you are a vegetarian like me ??!! Turkey is not an option. :) We have a fully vegetarian and Indianized Thanksgiving here. The whole point is to be thankful, right? We have our friends over for dinner and have fun.

We often do not have a turkey at Thanksgiving as it's not a favourite and our daughter shouldn't eat turkey, nor her son. Also her mil can't eat it and my father was not supposed to eat it either, so turkey is never the star on our holiday tables. For a vegetarian Thanksgiving a veg-nut loaf with a layer of stuffing is quite nice. I am putting together a veg menu and recipes to do a Veg Thanksgiving blog today for Anjali and others who are vegetarians. There are some great Thanksgiving themed recipes. The important thing about observing Thanksgiving is being thankful for what we have and sharing food-any food not just a turkey. Shanti/Mary-Anne
