Demi Lovato Says, “I've Gained Weight, Get Over It!”
Demi Lovato, 19, has dealt with a lot of weight related problems. This American singer and actress said that her eating disorder started with kids bullying her in school. She did admit that she has had an unhealthy relationship with food for the past 10 years. Her weight has fluctuated from being overweight to being anorexic and bulimic. But, ever since she stepped out of rehab where she was treated for depression, eating disorder and bipolar disorder in January '11; the Unbroken singer is giving the online bullies and haters a taste of their own medicine.
The singer who used to perform concerts on an empty stomach, in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres said that she wants to be the right role model for young girls out there who are considering to starve themselves to join the Size 0 bandwagon. In an interview with ABC News, Demi Lovato said that in Timberline Knolls, the residential treatment center in Illinois for women battling addiction and eating disorders; she found inspiration by looking at a photo her younger half-sister Madison De La Garza.
A visibly healthy and curvy Demi Lovato appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards. Unfortunately that night, Demi Lovato received a lot of negative comments about her weight gain on Twitter. I honestly don't understand why people are so negative about her healthy weight gain any way. But, Demi Lovato stood up for herself instead of trying to ignore the comments. She tweeted saying, "I've gained weight. Get over it. That's what happens when you get out of treatment for AN EATING DISORDER."
Later, she posted the following tweet, "Guess what, I'm healthy and happy, and if you're hating on my weight you obviously aren't. :)” Hear, hear, everyone!
