Those who watched the July 12 episode of The Late Night Show were delighted to see David Letterman grilling Emma ‘Hermione’ Watson  for her drinking habits or the lack of it, if Watson is to be believed. The episode began with the usual banter associated with the promotional programs for upcoming movies.

Emma was in the house to promote her last outing, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2.”

Mid-way through the interview, David talked about Emma’s co-star, Daniel ‘Harry Potter’ Radcliffe’s issues with drinking, about which Radcliffe had mentioned to the British magazine, GQ. Afterwards, Letterman asked Emma, “Do you drink at all? Do you use controlled substances?”

Then, before she could answer him, he asked her again, “Have you ever had whiskey or distilled spirits? Ever tried that?”

To that, Emma came up with, “Aaah, I mean, gosh, uhh, hahaha. No, I don’t.”

Not happy with the soundbyte, Letterman continued to ask her the same question in different manners, like, “Either you did and you liked it or you did and you didn't like it.”

Finally, when Letterman would not let go without her having given an answer, Watson gave a reply, banging both her hands on her thighs, as she said, “Yes, Yes I have got very, very drunk once in my life as everyone does, right?”

Her response invited loud guffaws from among the audience and displaying her sporty side, Emma rose from her seat and playfully bowed to the audience laughter.
