Dangers of going overboard with Diet and Weight Loss
Unhealthy and overly indulgent lifestyle will easily tip your scales towards increasing positive integers and result in weight gain. So what do you do to combat this very common but also one of the most ineffectively dealt with problems.
Do you exercise? Do you exercise and diet? Or do you just diet? If you answered the last question with a yes, you may as well read what is coming and it ain’t very pretty if you are into any of these practices.

Overuse of Laxatives!
While laxatives are a boon to those who may experience bowel problems due to medical history, using laxative as a part of the diet plan not only makes you a cheater but puts your body in grave danger.
If you think you can just binge and erase its effects by popping a pill, think again! Abuse of laxatives leads to tremendous water loss, which shows up as weight loss on the scales, but only temporarily. Your body will gain those pounds back instantly when allowed to recuperate and get back to normal.
The water that you loose, expels along with it valuable sodium and potassium from the body, thus creating salt imbalance in your body that can affect the heart dangerously. Prolonged or repeated use of laxatives can result in worsening case of constipation and loss of bowel mobility. Laxative abuse can also soften bones as it interferes with Vitamin C, D and calcium absorption in the body. Drastic weight loss measures can result in gastric bleeding, ulceration of the bowels, and intestinal injuries that may go beyond medical help or repair.
Single or mono diet:
If you stick to just one type of food throughout the day, it does not necessarily help you loose just weight. It makes you loose out on essential nutrients required by the body.
Vegetables and fruits are often laden with pesticides, if they are not locally or organically grown. Such raw vegetables, consumed without cooking, can increase toxins in your system and result in severe dysentery, diarrhea and indigestion.
Mono diets can cause severe imbalance of salts and vitamins and create deficiencies as your body is deprived of a variety of food groups. The result is depletion of Vitamin B12, C, D. In the long run, this can result to anemia, lowered immunity levels and slowing the body’s ability to heal from diseases. If you do it for a day or two however, it can be beneficial as you stomach gets the day off!
Soup and salad diet:
If you are having protein and fibre in your soups and salads along with some essential fats you are safe. If not, then in the long run, the soup and salad diet can lead to malnutrition and weakness.
If a prolonged soup and salad diet helps you loose a lotta weight, you probably lost some muscles weight too! Muscle tissue weighs more than fat tissue so the amount lost in a short time seems like a lot in terms of weight loss.
Then once you get back to a normal diet, you will balloon up as loss of muscle mass slows down metabolic rate! If you don’t have a filling and balanced meal you’re your salads and soups you will loose out on vitamins A, B, D, E, K, iron, calcium, folic acid and fat soluble vitamins.
The best way to maintain a healthy life and body is to get regular exercise (even if its of 15-20 minutes), balanced food intake, fresh fruits and veggies and lotsa water to keep your system well greased and kickin’ for a happy and healthy you…. Cuz no one wants to look like they made a trip in time back from Germany’s concentration camps! And its time you quit these habits.
