Daily Drinking & Cancer Risk

02-Sep-2009 by healthyeating

Men who drink beer or liquor on a regular basis may face a heightened risk for several different types of cancer. People who have at least a drink per day have a higher risk of getting a number of cancers than men who drink occasionally or not at all.

NOT A HEALTHY CHOICE

A study found that only beer and spirits (but not wine) are linked to elevated cancer risks. Some health experts recommending having a glass or two of wine on a regular basis, but not more than that. If a person drinks beer or liquor one to six times per week, they have a higher risk of cancer than the one who drinks less frequently. In addition, the risk of cancer increases with the number of years a person has been drinking.

This article suggests that both heavy drinking and regular drinking is hazardous for us. So, stick to moderate drinking and don’t make it a habit. Stay healthy!
