Cooking With Sound
This time around the scientists from UK, US and develping nations like Bangladesh have taken up a seemingly impossible challenge. To create a device that can be used for refrigerating, providing electricity and cooking food!

Prototype of Proposed Cooking Device
The Cooking With Sound project is intended to lighten the burden of dealing with food preparation and storage in developing countries. The final purpose to beat poverty and starvation!
Why is it called Cooking with sound?
That is because of the way it works. Well, this might be a little complicated for those who are not great fans of Science. But here goes. The proposed device will have a wood burning furnace that is attached to a pipe. The heat produced when burning the fuel in the stove will drive a resonant wave into the tube which in turn sucks out the heat. Thus a refrigeration effect is produced at the other end. A membrane placed in the tube will vibrate back and forth due to the resonant wave and thus produce electricity. This process is named the “reverse loudspeaker”. So its similar to cooking with sound. Hmm..still not got it? Then you need to check this site out for more details ( Don’t feel too bad, it took me some time to grasp it too, come on, not all of us are meant to be scientists!!)
