Chocolate Easter Bunnies, Melted and Exploited!

07-Apr-2009 by ifoodiee

These delicious Chocolate Easter bunnies are exhibited in the Jane Kim/Thrust Projects gallery in New York City.

Momoyo Torimitsu, the artist who visualized and put this exhibition together has arranged hordes of Chocolate bunnies at different stages of melting.

Bunnies have always been associated with Easter as they represent fertility. With the coming of the Easter week, many have put forward their disdain for the commercialization that Easter has been subjected to over the years. Maybe the melting rabbits indicate the erosion of the values of customs, traditions and the actual meaning of Easter.

No matter what your perception is about the display of clustered and lone Chocolate Easter bunnies, they are not to be missed. Many of the cute Easter bunnies have melted and have been reduced to scowling blobs of chocolate, some even look like they are bending over reverently.

Take a look at them. Maybe you can figure out what they are trying to say.

Chocolate bunnies are a delicious treat anyway whichever stage they are in.However, going by the changing trends in Easter celebrations I am afraid the values and customs are all changing..wonder what it would be a few years down the line (things don't look too good:(

Easter celebrations are quite divided between secular and religious customs. Easter is a Christian holiday but it is now celebrated by many cultures as a Spring holiday for teats and gifts. Shanti/Mary-Anne
