Chhath Puja is the worship of sun God. , who is the source of all life –forms in the world. People of almost all community worship Sun in one form or the other. The chhath Puja in India has no parallel in the world.
According to the tradition Chhath Puja, people have to keep fast until they pay homage to the rising sun god on the bank of a river.

Now I am coming to the food –aspect of Chhath Puja. Like other hindu festivals ,people kept fast in Chata also .Fruits are an indispensable offerings in Chhath Puja. Fruits like apple, banana ,guava ,orange, ‘gagal’ etc. The festive fruit of India raw coconut also used. Sugarcane is also an one of the most important offering in Chhath . The dietary items for ‘prasad consists of Puri ,Thekua, khajur etc.
