Chef Vikas Khanna seems to be completely floored with the sweeping response that Masterchef India 2 has garnered so far. And why not? This season seems to be totally pumped-up with the contestants trying their best not to crumble away under pressure tasks and putting their best 'dish' forward without being perturbed. And Chef Vikas Khanna, who is at the helm of things in the Masterchef house, seems to be quite overwhelmed by this. Says he, "I was so obsessed with cooking until now that I didn’t understand how people’s lives are affected by it. It is my first time in MasterChef, and I’m really happy with the response."

Chef Khanna's association with MasterChef India 2 was indeed providential. "When I got the opportunity to host MasterChef India 2, I instantly grabbed it, despite the fact that my Hindi is poor. I am learning Hindi for the show and I know a lot of you guys find my accent amusing. Even Kunal and Ajay find it funny! But, trust me, I don’t need to pretend on the show and I am just being myself. I am simply glad that the show has given me a chance to reconnect with my roots and it’s an honor to come back home. I hope to inspire all the aspiring chefs."
 

His grandmothers and mothers had the early influence on him, who fueled his passion for cooking that led him this far. For Chef Vikas Khanna, cooking is purely a divine experience. "Cooking is like meditation, it feeds the soul. I tell this to the contestants also because there is a lot of pressure. I always tell them to be as calm as possible and stay relaxed, especially before the elimination round."

Chef Vikas Khanna was ecstatic to have Harbhajan Singh on the show. "Despite being successful, he was so grounded. He shared that he loved simple Punjabi food the most and we connected instantly. The T-20 challenge he threw on the contestants was super fun," remarked Chef.
