With the approach of winter all we can think about is holidays, good food and some great winter cocktails. Check out this hearty winter menu which will bring a welcome change to your winter foods. Here are some innovative winter menu ideas which you will love to enjoy with your friends.

 

Cheese puffs: To prepare these puffs you will need kosher salt, eggs, butter, flour, mustard, gruyere cheese which is finely grated and grated nutmegs for enhanced taste. These puffs are perfect with beer.

 

Crudites with Green Goddess Dressing – A mouth-watering delicacy prepared with chopped basils, chives, tarragon, cloves, anchovy fillets, mixed baby green, uncooked vegetables like bell pepper strips and some lightly steamed vegetables like cabbage and cauliflower. Mayonnaise and white wine vinegar  added in abundance, helps to enhance the taste of this dish.

 

Short ribs in red wine – This hearty dish has a sumptuous dressing of tangerine peels, garlic, parsley and some classic gremolata. To prepare this dish, you will need short or trimmed ribs, thyme sprigs, parsley sprigs, star anise, short beef ribs, carrots, ginger, tomato, celery, onions and other seasonings to add taste to the meal.

 

Potato mashed with celery roots – This can be your Thanksgiving meal too. To prepare this dish, you will need peeled celery roots, russet potatoes well peeled and cut into slices, unsalted butter, whole milk and celery leaves. The celery roots are cooked with milk and other vegetables. When the vegetables are well cooked they are all smashed with potato smasher. Milk is added and the food is stirred in celery leaves. You can season with pepper and salt.

White Chocolate Espresso Torte with Hazelnut Praline – A lovely layered cake which you simply can’t resist. Soaking syrup tastes wonderful when prepared with bittersweet chocolate, corn syrup, whipped cream and coffee flavored liqueur. Hot butter rum – This is a great way to tackle the chillness of the winter. To prepare this hot buttered rum you will need splenda, skim milk, rum, ground nutmegs and of course butter to add a creamy taste to the drink. Milk is heated to prepare this drink and then other ingredients are added and stirred well till the sugar is dissolved. This rum drink is served with hot spicy appetizers to enhance its flavor.
