All About North Meets South Jubilee Food Fest
An interesting array of activities await to entertain and educate chefs, producers and all personnels connected to food and wine. The jubilee food fest starts off on Friday, March 25th with a 'Risotto Throwdown' that pits local chefs against each other. These chefs have to use northwest seasonal as well as worldwide ingredients to create the most delicious risotto. This would be followed by 'Cocktail Throwdown' where in top mixologists would compete for the most original yet innovative cocktail. The judges for the competitions of the first day are media personalities and national as well as local culinary personalities.
The second day has wine tastings and book signings by producers from Canada to Brazil. Food and drink seminars are also scheduled for this day. Some of the seminar topics include “To Cork or Not to Cork”, “Give Me the dirt”, “What a Difference a Riedel makes” etc. Seminars and book signing offers perfect opportunities to taste wines from Oregon, Washington, Canada and California. People can meet wine makers and get to know how their favorite wines are made. Some of the guest speakers at North meets South Jubilee fest includes Cole Danehower on NW Palate, John Compagno of Ardiri Winery etc. There would be interaction sessions too where in wine confectioners answer queries.
The third day has been reserved for a super-secretive session for industry professionals only.
