A Controversial Star
In spite of all the controversies, Taylor was a fitness freak and a consistent performer. He followed the right diet to keep himself fit and strong for crucial matches. He spent his entire professional career as a linebacker for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL). However, even during his early years with New York Giants, he was caught for using addictive drugs like cocaine. In spite of all his greatness he became a subject of ridicule. Even after retiring he didn’t give up his bad habits. He was in fact imprisoned thrice for attempted drug possession.
The Aura Overshadowed
The news of the arrest of L.T. for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 16 year old prostitute has stunned and saddened everyone including the Giants community. It seems his behavior has done more harm to others associated with him than himself. Nutrisystem decided to drop him as a spokesperson because of their brand image. People normally sober down with age, but it looks like the beast within L.T. is on the charge at the age of 51. Lawrence Taylor is one those celebrity sport stars who just couldn’t manage to maintain a clean public image. Substance abuse and performance enhancing drugs can lead to severe damage of health and reputation. Who knows it better than Lawrence Taylor himself?
