It’s been around 30 years now, and Smith & Wollensky has become a landmark in NYC. They procure and dry-age their beef in-house, to ensure quality, texture and flavour. Their ribs are also mouthwatering. Their menu has some signature steaks along with lamb, poultry and fish. Their wine selection is wide with over 550 labels, and a section devoted to the less popular country wines.

 

Wolfgang Puck’s Cut

Australian born chef and celebrated restaurateur Wolfgang Puck is said to have redefined fine dining in America. He is a true restaurateur in the true sense of the word, as he has a vast empire all around the world. In 2006, he started Cut, which was a steak house with a lounge called the ‘sidecar’. The restaurant has won the Michelin Guide star ranking.

 

Strip House

Started by executive chef, John Schenk, the Strip House has a fresh and innovative menu every few months. They also have a large wine and dessert menu. The décor is sophisticated and their signature New York Strip Steak tastes best when had with the restaurant's delicious creamed spinach with black truffles. You can top this up with the famous 24-layer chocolate cake.

 

The Prime Rib

It’s been a part of Baltimore since 1965. It was started by Buzz Beler and his brother Nick, and the place is done up in the manner of the super clubs in Manhattan. The Washington branch of the same restaurant has the rich and the famous queuing for a bite. There is live music and the atmosphere is great, and the steak is of the best quality. A third restaurant was opened in Philadelphia as well.

 

 

Peter Luger Steak House

This is an institution in NY city which has served the best steaks for the past 26 years. Celebs like Alfred Hitchcock, James Cagney and Robert De Niro have frequented this place. They serve the finest meat in the USA, and the selection of meat is always done by someone from the family, to ensure the quality and the taste. Their side serves are also popular, like the sliced tomato topped with Luger's own sauce, creamed spinach and onion rings German fried potatoes.
