Ballard Seafood Festival

Since 1974, crowds have been drawn to downtown Ballard for the much loved salmon barbecue that has grown into the two-day Ballard Seafood festival in July. The fest was, and still is, the heart of Seattle’s Scandinavian and maritime history, and this fest is celebrated on the second week of July every year. Come with your appetite ready and get ready to enjoy the mouth watering goodies, fantastic music line up and several other fun filled activities.

Special Attractions

At Seafood Fest, it's the unique attractions that make this festival special. The ever popular Alder-Smoked Salmon Barbecue ($7) cooked by the martime industry will be available. The bbq will include: Salmon fillet, Coleslaw, Garlic Bread from Great Harvest Baking Co. and Soda or water. Viking Helmets in numerous styles and colors will be available for purchase and you can enjoy Ballard's own brew, Maritime Pacific Brewing Company.

There will be the Annual Lutefisk Eating Contest, which will still take place in Bergen Place Park. Contestants gather and see just how much of this delicacy they can manage to wolf down Cash prizes go to those who rise above the others. Sign-ups take place at the festival, beginning two hours prior.

Entertainment

Year after year, Seafood Fest takes pride in offering top notch professional entertainers. Two separate stages provide a huge appeal— one for youngsters and their families and the other for those with more grownup preferences. Whether you sit in the beer garden, on the lawn or under a tree, you can enjoy all of the entertainment free of charge. Come for one act or camp out for the entire weekend long festival.

Bergen Place Park will now offer more places to sit and eat. During the rest of the festival, the park will now feature tables, chairs and umbrellas so you can enjoy every bit of your scrumptious seafood and other tasty treats. Stop in, have a seat, and enjoy the outdoor dining!
