08-Apr-2009 by foodwithme

The baking event has come to an end. This was one way I thought would get us all ifoodies together and enjoy cooking on a particular theme. Thanks to all those who send in their entries and were very encouraging.

Here is a round up of the delicious baking dishes that the enthusiastic ifoodies who participated have send in:

1-Usafireandrescue with the delicious Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread was the first one to declare the event open. She has loads of other mouthwatering baking and cooking recipes and videos. Each one of them is really worth checking out. Ask me:)

2- Sarita Bhandarkar has a batch of golden Honey Muffins that make me want to switch onmy oven right now. Sarita is an expert home chef and posts wonderful delights right out of her kitchen. Do keep checking up on her latest specialities.

3- Dhivik of Culinarybazaar  sends in these irresistible “Baked Quinoa and Mixed Bean Croquette".Ever since I got the entry have been keeping a regulat track of her blog and my oh my what variety she offers. Her delicious "eggless carrot cupcakes with mascarpone frosting" finds mention in the Los Angeles Times blogs "food bites"  of the week.

3- Varunavi of Mykitchenaroma sends in two simply superb entries

a)Zebra cake  liked the perfect stripes- vanilla and chocolate can be a heady mixing.

b) Eggless date cake with wheat flour A healthy treat with the wheat flour twist and this sure would make the veggies happy being eggless.

4- Sandi of Whistletopcooking bakes up a batch of Nutty granola for us.She has a lovely blog. Love the style and for a foodie like me the delicious goodies she offers are a treat in itself.

I have had a great time drooling over these baked goodies. Time to switch on my oven too, have to try out these delicious treats.

This was probably the first time a cooking event was held here at ifood and a new concept definitely takes some time to catch on and find favor. Hope there would be many more joining in the next time over. Would like some feedback from you guys. Would you like to have another foodie event here?

Hey, that was a great event your organized. Also, the winners' recipes are sure to make one go drooling. In terms of the variety being offered, I loved culinarybazaar; i would definitely keep track of this one. Sarita is an already known name in ifood.tv and hers require no special mention here; we all know she is gifted when it comes to whipping up new dishes :). And her contributions are so effortlessly simple to try and I just love them. Hope to see many more such events here on ifood.tv.
