Cranberry Facts

This is where the trick lies – if you read health magazines or health blogs, you must have read about craisins and how they are not good for your health as they are loaded with calories. Craisins are also referred to as candies by many people and certainly not recommended for those who are keeping a watch on their diet. How does a nutritionist say that craisins are good for your health, in such a case?

If you think minutely you will realize that whenever you had craisins you had them in their sugary coating which tasted heaven and you felt like having some more of them  – right? Whenever we have sugar coated goodies we take in more of calories which is certainly not good for health.

Craisins in their dried form are not good to eat, hence to market and sell their products fast; companies coat these cranberries with a sugary candy like coating. This sugar coated craisin is certainly not good for your health. If you have the unadorned cranberries they are very nutritious, have very less calories and are rich in fiber – they are certainly excellent for your health. If you wish to include craisins in your diet, you should have them with a diet sweetener – this way you will be able to reduce the calorie intake.

If you still manage to have the dried unsweetened cranberries, these are certainly excellent for your health. Here are some common benefits of craisins which have made them a good diet food!

• Craisins help to boost your immunity system and helps you to fight against different types of viral and bacterial infections. If you have craisins on a regular basis you will fall ill lesser than those who do not have these dried cranberries.

• If you consume dried cranberries in the required quantity, you will be able to tackle different problems related to urinary tract infections.

• Craisins also have good quantity of calcium. It shall help you to tackle problems related to tooth decay and poor bone conditions.

So, next time when you set out to buy craisins for your diet, hope you will not pick up those excellently packed mouthwatering sugary craisins, but pick up the very healthy ones which are good for your health.
