Aldo Zilli Unveils The Most Expensive Kitchen Worth $1.6mln
When a leading designer, Claudio Celiberti, designs a kitchen, which is unveiled by a celebrity chef, Aldo Zilli, it is bound to be expensive. But $1.6 million is not an amount you would exactly think of while thinking about a kitchen space. But what is life without a few surprises? Here is one of those.
The kitchen, called 'Fiore di Cristallo', is already being touted to be the world's costliest. The space comes with a $58,750 Murano crystal worktop, a Swarovski Crystal chandelier, and solid copper walls. That is not all. The kitchen also has 27 cabinets, all crystal-fronted and worth $700,000. The kitchen basin is made with $4,200 worth of crystal while the chrome-clad Philip Starck taps come at a cool $2,300. That excludes some of the appliances, like a fridge ($7,960), wine climate cabinet ($4,400), and an espresso coffee machine ($2,730), installed in the kitchen. In addition, there are some other appliances, which are from a German company, Gaggenau, and have cost $38,250.
Aldo Zilli unveiled the kitchen at an exclusive do in Mayfair, London, last week and it took Celiberti more than a year to complete the crystal kitchen. However, if you are already thinking of buying one for yourself or your better half, wait, because there already is an eight-month long waiting list.
Made with the aim to "push the boundaries of what is possible in design," this 'perfect masterpiece' would definitely push a lot of kitchen talk around the globe, for, at least, some years to come.
