Tamara's Kitchen Tips

Now a days, salt is in just about everything that we eat, which is not always the best thing for our bodies. I discovered a way to still get that little salty kick without all that salt. I have a fresh herb garden right outside my kitchen and I cook with fresh herbs all the time, what a difference fresh herbs can make to any dish that you make! By adding a little extra herb to your dish, you can cut back on the salt. Don't be afraid to use a lot of herbs, they are good for you! So give it a try.If you don't have room for a garden, you can always get yourself a little window box and put three or four of your favorites in there. Just don't forget to water them! My favorites are Marjoram (a nice sweet taste- great with chicken and in pasta sauces), oregano, thyme and of course Basil!Ciao!Tamara
