7 Ideas To Make Delicious Shrikhand For Holi
Shrikhand is one of the most popular among the desserts from Western India, especially from the Gujarati and Maharashtrian cuisine. Made using yogurt, Shrikhand is a lip smacking snack. It is also a very healthy and nutritious dish is very prepared during Holi. Very similar to the stirred fruit yogurt available in the United States, Shrikhand is basically a smooth blend of hung yogurt and sugar.

You can hang the yogurt in the night as it will take at least 8 hours for the curd to become ‘chakka’. Blend hung curd with sugar to get a creamy, smooth paste. Keep it in the refrigerator for a while allowing it to become slightly cold and then serve. Add saffron strands or dry fruits powder to enrich Shrikhand. Or while you serve Shrikhand, garnish with chopped almonds or pistachio nuts. You can even add rose essence.

1. Chocolate Flavored Shrikhand
All of us love chocolates and chocolate flavored desserts. So, this time when you prepare Shrikhand, add a teaspoon full of drinking cocoa powder. Serve in a tall glass with roasted nuts and raisins on the top.
Blend the hung curds and castor sugar to a smooth paste and then add freshly chopped raspberries. Blend once again. Cool and serve with chopped nutmeg toppings.
Prepare the plain Shrikhand. Before serving, slice cantaloupes into small cubes and arrange them in stem-less wine glasses. Now, add Shrikhand to this. Garnish with chopped cashews and serve as a dessert.
