End of lent

The end of Lent culminates in a joyful Easter after 40 days of abstinence from foods of your choice. The Lent end is heralded by most people with a sigh of relief so that they can go back to their meat eating ways with a vengeance. However, it is not quite so simple as that. You do need to get your body acclimatized after days of abstaining. Holding a dinner party after the end of Lent might actually be a good idea. You can also sit down with your family and enjoy a sumptuous fare post Lent. But are there any restrictions that govern us post Lent or can we just eat anything and everything to our heart’s content? Let’s look at some of the dinner ideas that we can use at Lent end this season.

Dinner Ideas For The End Of Lent

1. Try to eat fish or something as heartening as fried chicken after the period of Lent. It will definitely bring about good cheer even as the hot melted fat makes you feel comfortably at home. Going over the top with red meat can spell danger for your health. It’s better to take the safest way out and stick to chicken if you are tired of shellfishes. Fried Tuna along with some macaroni and cheese is also a welcome addition to the dinner menu at the end of Lent.

2. Vegetables are not quite banned during Lent but it does not harm to have them after Lent either. A big platter of steamed veggies along with some bacon strips can certainly have you looking forward to the Easter season ahead. Rice, corn, spaghetti and meat balls taste yummy after observing the Lent season for forty whole days.

3. An out of door party can be a fun way to usher the end of Lent too. Just drag the BBQ appliances outside, start a merry fire and dance away your blues by celebrating the end of Lent with barbecued ribs, salad greens and roasted potatoes.

4. Mexican food is a surefire way of beginning your pre- Easter celebrations. Tucking into tacos filled with spicy ground beef, jalapenos, tomatoes and chopped vegetables will help you to let your hair down after 40 days of sacrifice.

5. An informal dinner gathering is a perfect way of ending Lent. All you have to do is to fling together some sloppy Joes and offer it to your guests along with French fries and fresh salads. Some mouthwatering ice-cream provides a fitting end to it all while the more sophisticated among you can sample some cheese and wine as well.

However, it will be a good idea to spare your digestive system a thought as you begin to enjoy the food without limitations once more. Make it a point to include plenty of fruits and fresh vegetables in your dinner menu even as you get ready to host the party at the end of Lent.
