3 New Year Food Resolutions I Have Made

26-Dec-2008 by Radzie

All of us are eagerly waiting to welcome the New Year 2009; and most of us must have already penned down the long long list of the so-called New Year Resolutions. Witnessing my waistline expanding day by day, there’s nothing but a New Year Food Resolution I can probably think at this point of time.

A lot of self-confrontations and a lot more contemplations, I believe I cab finally disclose my wannabe New Year resolution list, this time completely dedicated to turn over a healthy new leaf!

So here it goes.

1. Even when work keeps me busy, I will reach for a glass of water: This is indeed a habit I wanted to inculcate, but never could. Unless you count my cups of coffee and tea, my daily water intake is literally a glass or so, which I would really want to work upon. Starting my day with a glass of chilled or warm water and then a couple of glasses per meal, along with my coffee and tea should well add on to more than 8 glasses. So in 2009 I am hoping to be a water-body, which will definitely keep me healthy, active and beautiful.

2. I will make proper use of dining table and not my TV room: I am still annoyed about the number of pizza, burger and fries take-aways I have consumed last year and about 80% of it was while watching my favorite shows on TV. Even researches say that when in front of the TV watching your favorite show, you eat double the quantity of what you would have had on the dining table with your family! So, now I have realized that food and shows cannot go hand-in-hand, and that’s the reason why our primates invented something called dining table. I have one at home in a nearly rusted stage, but have already given it a face-lift with a new table cloth and accessories so that I am forced to reach my dining table when the clock strikes 8, 1 and 8 (in the evening).

3. I will find ways to love the veggies I always hated: Although I am not that strictly non-vegetarian kind, I always tend to go “ugh” at the very sight of spinach, cabbage, eggplant, broccoli, beet and bitter gourd. Until I read it somewhere that these help great in lose weight, I could find a reason to at least think about including them in my diet. Although it will what me to look for some extremely appealing makeovers to dishes made with these vegetable, I think it’s a decision that at one point of my life will surely pay.
