The 162-member family lives together in Mizoram; they cook 30 kg pork and 50 kg rice every day

With 162 family members living under the same roof, it can easily be one of the largest families living together in the picturesque Baktawng village (or anywhere in the world actually…)

The head of the family and leader of the Chana sect, Ziona, 66, has 38 wives and 94 children with some of his sons having married and having children of their own living together in a building named ‘Chhuan That Run’ or the House of the New Generation.

Though the sons live in different rooms in the building they all share the kitchen where they cook for the entire family. “We prepare 30 to 35 kilo of pork when we want to eat meat and require around 50 kilo of rice for dinner,” one of the wives said.
