10 Weirdest Hawaiian Snacks
Hawaii is best known for the beautiful beaches, the beautiful people, the beautiful locations, and the beautiful weather. The whole vibe is just great. Hawaii is also very famous for its exotic food. Let’s have a look at some of the lip smacking and wildly exotic foods which are extremely weird at times.

Lavender
No I am not talking about the color lavender, I am talking about the flower. This dish tastes very good, and it can be best served in a glass of champagne or as a garnish for ice creams.

Upside-down cake
Don’t worry this cake doesn’t have any weird ingredient. It is prepared by baking. The most funny part is that while serving, the cake is turned upside-down and all the toppings are at the bottom of the plate. The main ingredients are usually fruits such as pineapple, apple. Surely a weird way of eating a cake

Ahi
This is a Hawaiian yellow fin tuna, usually eaten raw or seared on the edges.

Loco Moco
This dish sounds funny, it’s basically a fried egg on top of a hamburger on top of a pile of rice, all of this is mixed in brown gravy. Must be one heavy dish

Spam
No I am not talking about the email spam. The word spam is derived from Shoulder Pork Ham. This is a canned product which contains precooked pork. Served over white rice, this dish is also called Spam Musubi.

Poi
It looks like someone has heated a bowl of glue. But it doesn’t taste the way it looks, ask the babies in Hawaii. No seriously, it is mainly used as a substitute for milk, for babies who have allergy from dairy products.

Poke
I bet the first thing you thought about was Facebook. A very unique name for a dish, Poke is the Hawaiian verb for “section”. It actually means raw fish salad. Served as an appetizer, and is prepared by adding tuna and marinating it with sea salt, coconut, soy sauce, chili pepper.

Wild Boar
The Hawaiian’s actually cook the boar and eat it. I bet it must be hard to chew on it.

Kalua Pork
There are some dishes that take us away by surprise, well this dish is really something. Kalua is method of cooking, in which an imu is used. If you are wondering what is a imu, let me clear it out for you. It is a method of cooking in which the pork meat is roasted in an underground oven. Logs of wood are gathered, and fueled with fire, and the pig is cooked on the logs.

This has to be one of the most weird dishes that I have come across. Must say the Hawaiians have a strong stomach to digest all these dishes.
